Taylor Swift Makes MTV VMA History with a Record-Breaking Night!

Congratulations go out to Taylor Swizzy! The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards took over Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Sunday, September 27, with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg at the helm as host.

Swift had a major night, taking home the coveted Video of the Year award for her smash hit “The Fate of Ophelia.”With two wins during the ceremony, Taylor also made history, moving ahead of Beyoncé to become the artist with the most major MTV VMA awards ever.

The milestone came as Swift entered the evening tied with Beyoncé at 30 major VMA wins each. With 11 nominations and two additional victories, the pop superstar officially claimed the top spot.

Before the show, Taylor also made a glamorous return to the VMA red carpet following the release of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore. She stepped out in a sheer black corset top paired with a shimmering silver skirt featuring a dramatic thigh-high slit, both from Tamara Ralph’s couture collection.

She completed the look with dazzling silver accessories, including Leviev and Anita Ko earrings, Forever Diamonds and Etho Maria rings, and Le Silla shoes.

As for Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper reflected on his full-circle moment as host, noting that MTV and the VMAs have been part of his career from the beginning and helped give hip-hop a global platform.

And with Taylor making VMA history, it was certainly a night to remember!
