Nia Long’s Mother Predicted Her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame When She Was Still a Child

Nia Long is stepping into a full-circle moment, revealing that her upcoming Hollywood Walk of Fame star was something her mother envisioned long before her career even began.

She fondly recalled childhood walks down Hollywood Boulevard, where a simple trip to grab pizza turned into something more meaningful. “We’d pass all the stars, and my mom would say, ‘One day, you’re going to have one,’” Nia shared. “And I wasn’t even acting yet.”

Now, with a career spanning over four decades, she’s embracing the moment with deep gratitude, reflecting on both her journey and the timing of this long-awaited honor.

Early in her career, Nia also received memorable advice from Eddie Murphy, whom she met at the premiere of Boyz n the Hood. “He told me, ‘You’re going to have a wonderful career don’t ever feel guilty about your success,’” she recalled. At the time, she laughed it off, admitting she barely had money in her account but looking back, his words feel prophetic.

Between her mother’s belief and the encouragement from icons along the way, Nia’s journey is a testament to purpose, persistence, and stepping fully into what was always meant to be.
