First Look: The ‘Burbs Starring KeKe Palmer
Suburbia has never been so suspicious or so entertaining. Keke Palmer, star and executive producer, is ready to shake up the cul-de-sac in Peacock’s highly anticipated dark comedy series The ’Burbs, premiering with all eight episodes dropping Sunday, February 8, 2026. Inspired by the 1989 cult-favorite horror-comedy of the same name, the new series gives the classic story a sharp, modern twist because let’s be honest, weird neighbors and suburban paranoia never go out of style.
Set in present-day suburbia, The ’Burbs follows a young couple who reluctantly relocate to the husband’s childhood home, hoping for a fresh start wrapped in picket fences and quiet streets. That peaceful illusion doesn’t last long. When a mysterious new neighbor moves in across the street, long-buried secrets of the cul-de-sac begin to surface, and what starts as awkward curiosity quickly spirals into something far more dangerous. Behind manicured lawns and friendly waves lurk deadly threats, dark truths, and the unsettling realization that no one really knows who they live next door to.
Keke Palmer stars as Samira, alongside Jack Whitehall as her husband Rob, forming a couple whose suburban dream turns into a comedic nightmare. Palmer brings her signature charisma, comedic timing, and fearless energy to the role, grounding the chaos with both humor and heart. Whitehall matches her beat for beat, delivering sharp wit and perfectly timed reactions as the paranoia mounts. Together, they anchor a cast that also includes Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, and Kapil Talwalkar, each adding their own flavor of eccentricity to the neighborhood.
