Essence Holiday Celebration of Joy

I was recently invited to attend Essence Magazine’s annual Essence Holiday Celebration of Joy taping and what an unforgettable experience it was! The atmosphere was electric as incredible talent lit up the stage with music, inspiration, and pure holiday spirit.

Hosted by the always hilarious DC Young Fly and the stunning Kat Graham (who looked absolutely fabulous), the show featured a lineup of powerhouse performers. Gospel icon Kierra Sheard delivered a soul-stirring rendition of “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” while rising star TA Thomas wowed the audience with his smooth vocals on “Gift for Me.”

The special was filmed in both Atlanta and Los Angeles, and behind-the-scenes cameras captured all the magic as it unfolded here in the ATL. From Megan Piphus, the beloved Sesame Street puppeteer, showcasing her talent, to DeVon Franklin sharing a heartfelt message of reflection, the night was filled with memorable moments.

Other highlights included:

Lena Byrd Miles delivering a breathtaking performance of “Special Gift.”
The legendary CeeLo Green blessing us with a soulful “Silent Night.”
Gen Alpha shining bright as Heiress Harris daughter of T.I. and Tiny took the stage with the ESSENCE Holiday Children’s Choir for “Holiday Shuffle.”
Adorable performances from young talents like Van Van and the beloved Ms. Shirley.
A stunning rendition of “Mistletoe” by Grammy winner Susan Carol.

And of course, DC Young Fly kept everyone laughing both on stage and behind the scenes!

It was pure holiday joy from start to finish.
