Cynthia Nixon Says She Has More in Common with Miranda Now on “And Just like That…”

Cynthia Nixon recently opened up about her son’s graduation from the University of Vermont, sharing a sweet (and very relatable) parenting moment. “He graduated with a degree in engineering,” she said. “We went to the engineering ceremony and skipped the big university-wide one. Even his college had around 300 students—I can’t imagine sitting through the whole university’s ceremony!”

When Kelly guessed that Cynthia wasn’t allowed to post any photos from the event, she laughed and confirmed, “Exactly! I even called him right before I came on Live and said, ‘There’s such a cute picture of you and me!’ He replied, ‘I wish you wouldn’t!’”

Cynthia also dished on Season 3 of And Just Like That…, revealing what’s ahead for her character, Miranda. “She’s back on the dating scene,” she shared, before noting a storyline many parents can relate to: Miranda is stressed that her son, Brady, isn’t planning to go to college.

Reflecting on her evolving relationship with the character over the years, Cynthia said, “When we first started, I had almost nothing in common with Miranda. She was single, a lawyer, dating all the time—I was in a long-term relationship, already had a child, and very domestic. I’ve come a little way to meet Miranda, but I think Miranda’s come a long way to meet me.” See the video clip inside…
